Hi Al, Back when I was in the business we used 386sx with 8 meg on DOS or maybe Netware if they wanted to pay for it, but I don't see that helping you now. Just tossing your terms into google I am getting 64 bit on everything. I guess that is a starting point. Then RAID, error detection and correction, hot swapping and dare I say it, Linux. If you ignore the reference to Dell, maybe this article about duals beating quads? Back in the day the server didn't need to be the fastest, maybe speed is still detrimental? Seems contradictory, but . . . http://www.anandtech.com/show/3648/xeon-7500-dell-r810 -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ http://elect-pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
