Hi Tracy,

I would like to see a sample of that batch file.

I signed up with www.webfaction.com because of all the good recommendations on
this list. I asked about the command file
sync with the web site and they recommended using the rsync utility. Google
shows a Windows client. I plan to research
that this weekend when I have more time.

Sytze,

Both the FTP command line FTP and the PSFTP that comes with PuTTy have a
parameter for a file that has a list of commands.

I have used PSFTP (it uses an SSH connection to transfer files) with the
batch to start transferring files home from different directories. I've
always added a file at the end with a name I know the transfer has
completed. Some 1 byte file named "completed.txt", or whatever fancied me at
the time.

When using a the command line, you may need to put in the password, or in a
batch file, it will be plain text. Something to be aware of. Once you start
it you can walk away and let it be.

Both commands have syntax help via the -h parameter.

HTH,
Tracy
