The number of people filing new claims for unemployment benefits
unexpectedly rose last week by the largest amount in three months. The
surge is evidence of how volatile the job market remains, even as the
economy grows.

The economy is not growing, and these boot-licking sycophants in the
press need to stop pretending it is. Otherwise, we're going to
(continue to) be seeing a LOT of "unexpected" data for the foreseeable
future.

Debt is growing astronomically, along with pork-barrel spending.
Regulation and attempts to snuff out freedom and industry are
expanding rapidly. But the economy -- the thing that actually creates
wealth -- is far from healthy, as the public sector debt and
interference is choking off private sector capital supply. And I'm not
talking about credit supply but real capital.

Anybody who understands the role of capital in a free market system
would not only expect to see what is happening, but be stunned if the
economy actually did start any meaningful expansion under the current
regime.

That *would* be totally unexpected, to the point of being suspicious
as propaganda instead of news (very common in the Good Old Days for
which Obama and his communist Czars so deeply long).

"It ought never to be forgotten, that a firm union of this country,
under an efficient government, will probably be an increasing object
of jealousy to more than one nation of Europe; and that enterprises to
subvert it will sometimes originate in the intrigues of foreign
powers, and will seldom fail to be patronized and abetted by some of
them. Its preservation, therefore ought in no case that can be
avoided, to be committed to the guardianship of any but those whose
situation will uniformly beget an immediate interest in the faithful
and vigilant performance of the trust." [Federalist Papers #59]
