The first machines I checked were HP machines, but I found them to be 
pretty expensive.  Dell was even worse - an equivalent Dell machine to the 
HP I'd been looking at was $2,000 more.

The thing I'm most wary about these two ASUS machines is that they have 
chiclet keyboards.  I've heard good and bad things about that.  Worse comes 
to worse, I can always get a separate keyboard or something like it.  I 
think.
