I guess we are prepared as a nation to fix natural disaster(s). Getting supplies, water, sanitation, security is easy because we have done it over and over again. Unfortunately this is not a disaster like that at all. This spill is outside of the plan book and one that the nation as a whole didn't think it needed to have. Not saying that BP had the "right" playbook at all. They had one and it only had a few pages so so it seems. :( After Alaska and Exxon we had in our playbook a crack in the hull and what to do.
