The Bible seems to predict wide-spread famine at the end of times. If you've seen the movie Food, Inc., you know that there is basically only one soy bean variety in the country, a genetically-altered variety patented by Monsanto. If a virus hits that strain, it will wipe out almost all of the soy bean production in the US.
