Looks like a table but there is nothing there.  This is all long
distance talking to COO at site who could type into the command window
for me.  I'll see first hand later today when I swing by.  :(

Flow of info is:

1) Transactions are inserted into shiptran all day long.

2) EOD I clean up string data to appear to be a date that VFP can use,
a time of day to make customers feel better.  This was just added for
UPS data

3) Past shipping cost and price into SO, mark SO as shipped.  Not
changed with UPS change.

4) Process Invoice operation that has been in place since 99.  Still
untouched.

So the what did I do to change this?  #2  :)

I am questioning why a phantom reference to a select distinct * from
myTable would leave remnants in a dbc?  This makes no sense to me.  I
have no code in create view or alter view or create table.  I think
that the select INTO is the culprit.
