About backpacks: I bought this one for my laptop: http://www.targus.com/uk/product_details.asp?sku=tcb001eu It has two things that made me happy: two straps (chest and waist) which virtually glue the backpack to your body, and a rain coat which can be pulled out (it sits in a hidden pocket at the bottom). I had a car crash 2 years ago (rolled over with my car and completely trashed it). The laptop was in the backpack, in the rear sit and got out of the car through the back window, breaking it (actually, the police recovered it from highway - I didn't notice it was missing). The backpack is so damn well built that it protected the laptop (there was a crack in the display, but anyway) so well that I have used the laptop in that very day, giving a training to a customer of mine.
