I use and recommend Security Essentials because: - It's Microsoft's job to protect the (Windows) operating system. No other entity has equivilent access to the intimate details of the OS's inner workings. - It works, and it causes no hassels with day to day operations. To be sure, it's deficient, as can be learned by reading http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/z/os/zos/features/racf/ - Security is the King of the Time Wasters. How many people have wasted how much time studying, choosing, debating, tweaking, understanding, etc. security related issues that are continuously morphing. Every minute we spend on security issues is a precious minute lost from time that should be spent on building.
