We use Beanstalk (http://beanstalkapp.com/) which is a hosted service based on Subversion or Git. There is a free version for smaller projects (and most Fox style projects would fit fine), but it is limited to 3 people and 100MB of space. Still, perfect for testing it out. We pay for the service and it works well for our company. I don't know exactly what command line API Subversion has, but you can do this because there are tools that integrate with Subversion (remote or local) that run on various operating systems.
