Further to this email and suggestions received.

I had copied the entire source code to another computer in the office
about a month ago. I had also used that computer for testing and so had
copied the VFP runtimes as well.

I decided that as that version was working ok I would copy it back onto
my development machine, and it worked without the error. I then
gradually copied all the forms, library files, programs, reports etc.
Recompiling and testing. Eventually I had all the source code from the
faulty project copied in to the new copy. At this point I just could
not understand it. The old exe still gave the error whilst the new exe
worked. The source code was exactly the same, so what was the
difference. Only the runtimes which were per the installation on the
one hand and in the folder with the exe on the new one.

Then it occurred to me that there might be something wrong with the run
times. Deleted the ones in the working folder. The error came back.
Copied the run times from the VFP folder and still the error. Copied
over the FoxPro ones from the ones originally copied to the other
machine, Bothe exe's working. So what had gone wrong. Thinking back to
when the fault occurred, I had the previous week uninstalled VFP
completely. Reinstalled and immediately installed service pack 2. Then
installed the latest version of Sedna. That is the proper way to
install all three as understand. Is that wrong?

Anyway fault cured and I can get on with some improvements to the
project.

Subject: Buufer overrun detected

Hi All

Has anybody come across this problem.

After building my EXE I now get an error (Windows not FoxPro)

Title says:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library"

Error says:

"Buffer overrun detected!

Program C:\Users\Phart\CSPA\Cspa.exe

A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program's

Internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must

now be terminated."

Visual FoxPro SP2

Windows 7 Ultimate.

Alex Grigorjev's Command Bars Office Ribbon in use.

I am CCing this to Alex in case he has come across the problem when
using his Command Bars.

Cheers

Peter
