Hi Michael, "The poor you have always with you", somebody so politically incorrect He was crucified once said. So it is OK now to let "them" starve to death for a few years until (ha) the budget gets balanced? Like it ever will . . . Seems we started doing that in the Clinton years while we ended "welfare as we know it". Then the budget balanced for a minute but we kept on doing it. Now there is a deficit. Oh, surplus/deficit is unrelated to charity? Could be . . . But they aren't starving, you could say. The food bank gives each diabetic two or even three loaves of bread, two packages of pasta, a cake and a twelve pack of HFCS soda - all things that diabetics shouldn't have, every week. Do I have to say that nearly all the poor, certainly the aged poor, are diabetic? That is worse than starving, it is being poisoned. It is the only food they have, so they eat it, and it makes them sicker and sicker. The subsidy isn't the problem, it is wrong subsidies. Wrong to give hungry sick people the kind of food they shouldn't have, wrong to give anything to persons who are not in need. Yes, nearly all the government spending is "funneled" through the rich - but most of it stops with them. Sure, they "create" a few jobs - in India - or here for illegals. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ http://elect-pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
