What it means is that if you were planning on a long career as an
IronPython developer, you need to consider alternate career paths.

Exactly like FoxPro. The fact that Microsoft is withdrawing support for
future development doesn't cause existing versions to magically stop working.

Actually, that's a good comparison. I used to be a big fan of the Dead,
but moved on to other music long ago. But I still know of several people whose
life revolves around their collection of Dead tapes, and who haven't listened
to much of anything else these last few decades. Nobody (outside of that group)
looks at them with envy or admiration; instead, they tend to pity them as stuck
in the past with no prospects for the future.
