I can't wait when people figure out that the cost per mile driven will be higher than a gasoline powered car of similar size.
A Honda Fit gets 38 MPG and has a suggested retail price of 15k. The Chevy Volt has a suggested retail price of 40k. Think you'll ever make up the 25k in fuel savings? I don't spend 25k on fuel in 50 years. And guess what? When you plug in to a public charging station, don't expect the electricity to be the same low rate that you get at your house, it will be marked up 100% or more.
