I believe that my last post was not sent correctly and therefore is illegible, so I will try to repeat it here today.
I could finally download the correct version of SQL Server Express 2008 R2 with the Management Studio included. It weighs about 750 Mb and takes about 15 minutes to install, but it went through flawlessly in my Windows 7 Home Premium notebook. BTW, I also use Oracle VM Virtual Box, an open source virtual machine sofware, free from Oracle, that works like a charm. I installed a Windows XP with SP 2 in it and then installed the above version of SQL Server Express R2, with no problems. Of course you first need to install the Windows Installer 4.5 (WindowsXP-K942288-v3-x86.exe) , the .NET framework 3.5 and the Windows Powershell softwares, before you install SQL Express, but then, I finally did it, like the Freddy Mercury song says, but without its implications (:->)). Now, off to enjoy the rest of the Sunday, a not too cold day here today, taking into account that we are still in Winter, in the Southern Hemisphere.
