Alan,
We have just upgraded to the latest Zebra and still use the Seagull drivers
with no problems. They have been upgraded somewhat since 2007 so make sure
you get the latest version.

Unless you want to do really complex manipulation I'd use the VFP reporting
system unless you need to do things like embedded label numbering or in line
barcoding. Using the ??? command does work but you have to be careful on
getting the page lengths of the labels exactly on a line break.

Subject: Zebra barcode printing ... paging Dr Crozier ...

I'm starting a project that will require labels to be printed using a
Zebra GK420t label printer. I'm currently collating information with a
view to determining the best approach.

I'll be making the printer use it's own functionality to print by
sending it ZPL commands, as opposed to trying to achieve this using VFP
report layouts.

I see people have done this using the VFP '???' command. Does that work
through a USB connection ?

I've seen a post from Dave about using drivers from Seagull as opposed
to the manufacturer drivers. This post was from 2007, would the
recommendation still be to use these drivers ?

Would it be better to try and use a shell script or even a .NET assembly
to do the raw comms with the printer ?

Thanks ...
