... what they really mean is: “Never forgive. Never heal. Never stop
being afraid. Never stop hating.”

( -or- http://j.mp/ai2xZ2 )

It's good to remember. I flew my American Flag outside my house this
morning. I've played the events of that day over in my mind several times today
already; like many Fox folk, I was in San Diego for DevCon when it happened,
and I spent the next week trying to get back home across the continent to be
with my family. I grew up close enough to NYC that I watched the Twin Towers
slowly growing as they were built back in the '60s. In my early days as a
consultant, I interviewed for a Fox gig with American Express that would have
had me working on floor 30-something of the South Tower (never got it!). The
attacks hit me very hard emotionally; after the first few times I couldn't
bring myself to watch the replays of the planes flying into the towers and
their eventual collapse.

But it's also good to heal. It's good to remember that, while there are
still some truly evil people in the world, the overwhelming percentage of
people of every country and every religion are good, decent people, and instead
of clinging to simplistic labels and staying afraid, we should be focusing on
banding together with those who stand for peace in order to make this world a
happier, saner place. We should actively speak out against politicians who try
to win elections by keeping the voters afraid by using Muslims as targets for
their venom. We would do well to remember this, too:

God Angrily Clarifies the "Don't Kill" Rule
http://j.mp/b05Crs

"I don't care how holy somebody claims to be," God said. "If a person tells you
it's My will that they kill someone, they're wrong. Got it? I don't care what
religion you are, or who you think your enemy is, here it is one more time: No
killing, in My name or anyone else's, ever again."
