Too bad I can't see that website link - since I am blocked here at work
(Barracuda claims it's a Forum or Newsgroup). 

However - I wouldn't be surprised by an article like this involved
Autodesk. Years ago - on a webboard dedicated to 3DS Max users - there
were MANY discussions about this - where people wanted to sell the SW
they bought. For instance, if they were going out of business. Autodesk
essentially claimed that they couldn't do it - unless they were selling
the Whole business to someone - and then the SW license could be
transferred. They were ALWAYS a big stickler about this. Even when
people tried to sell their Max license on Craigslist - Autodesk would go
out of the way to try and shut down the sale!
