Hi Michael, Businesses will hire, but only service sector at the lowest wages, illegals mostly and also in the third world. The same thing has happened in the last two or three "recoveries". Now, what you are saying *is* the doctrinaire R and T line. I say it is putting the fox out to watch the hen-house. Reagan said "Trust but Verify". We need to follow that, always. Now, if you are in New Jersey there might be a higher market "minimum" wage so you get the impression that people are being paid well, but that is just local. Here in Florida they don't even want to pay your withholding tax so they make you an "independent contractor". All the time we have cases here where people work a whole pay period and then get no pay. Usually the employer gets away with it.
