Not exactly. As I understand it this happens if you use the 'Sync Facebook Contacts' option on iPhone or similar. It will pull all your FB contacts in, fine. The problem is that it will also upload contact details from your phone to the FB servers. It then checks the numbers and if it finds a match with a FB user who isn't on your friends list you will get a suggestion to 'friend' them. So it's using that data to extend the network. It *does* mention that this will happen apparently (can't check, no Apple mobile walled garden for me thanks) but how many people will bother reading that ? -- Alan Bourke alanpbourke (at) fastmail (dot) fm _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[email protected] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
