I use Ctrl+W to exit code editing windows all the time. I don't use VFP9 but do use the latest VFP8 occasionally still. The only thing remotely similar that I've experienced and was never able to track down why, was that all the code in a particular method would disappear after saving it *if intellisense was active*. So, if I went to edit this particular method, I'd have to remember to turn intellisense off first (can't remember how to do that at the moment) or I'd lose all the code in the method after saving changes. It may have actually been more complicated than that, like needing to have hit the '.' at some point to bring up the intellisense for a particular object, but life was too short and I was losing too many billable hours just recovering my code from source control and piecing together the missing bits that I never spent time tracking down the cause. It wouldn't hurt to try turning off Intellisense. Probably won't help your case, but wouldn't hurt to try.
