The EPA has come up with this formula for figuring out the gasoline equivalent 
for an electric car.  The say 33.7 Kilowatt hours = 1 gallon of gas.  But in NJ 
in the summer electric prices are 16 cents per kilowatt/hour and gasoline is 
$2.80 a gallon.   That makes the calculation 17.5 killowatt hours per gallon.  
So instead of the Nissan Leaf getting 99 mpg, in NJ it is getting 51.4 mpg.   
HOW DOES THAT SAVE MONEY?
