Part of President Obama Democratic platform in the 2008 elections was
repel of the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, (eg incomes over
$250,000.00), while keeping tax cuts for everyone else in place. It now
appears the Republicans will block any legislation along these lines.
However, the Republicans would support extending the Bush tax cuts, but
only if the tax cut remain in place across the board, including
maintaining the tax cut gift to the wealthy.

If president Obama does not go along with extending all the Bush tax
cuts, the tax cuts to the middle class will expire, requiring everyone
to pay more taxes.

If the tax cuts expire for lack of legislation to extend them,
Republicans will claim President Obama, his Administration, and the
Democratic Party raised taxes on everybody, and we all know how
devastating this would be for President Obama and the Democratic Party
during the 2012 election.

It's obvious to me the Republicans are more interested in playing a
partisan chess game than doing the business of the Country and the
American people.

How do you see this playing out?

Regards,

LelandJ
