But of course. I agree completely. A couple of points though.

- US being stupid is more harmful than Argentina being stupid.
- Argentina does not believe in a "manifest destiny".
- Argentina does not claim to be an example of liberty and democracy.
- Argentina does not want to be the world's police.
- Argentine people don't think they are the bellybutton of the world.

I guess the bottom line is that I can't stand hypocrites, and US is one
of the worst.

Absolutely.

Hmmm.... you've never had socialists in govt. I doubt you'd know what a
socialist is.
And if you read carefully what I wrote you'll see that both right and
left politicians are at fault. Nothing to do with socialism or capitalism.

BTW, did you notice how often you say "free society" referring to your
country? As if most of the other countries were not.
FYI I perceive that my country, in spite of it's many faults, is freer
than yours. We don't have a patriot's act (though I admit we have the so
called "super powers" which go against the powers of congress), people
don't get abused in airports, we don't have prisons destined to held
prisoners without trial or legal help, we don't imprison and mistreat
whistle blowers like the wikileaks bloke, we don't burn books we don't
like.
Some time ago a policeman stopped me in a control post and after asking
for license and car's papers, asked where was I coming from. I told him
to mind his own business, that he had no right to ask me where I was
coming or going to, that it was unconstitutional. He backed up and
apologized saying it was in the forms he had been ordered to fill. I
told him I didn't mind what a paper pusher had written in his forms and
that I would not answer anything unless he would tell me he needed the
info to stop a crime and he told me exactly what crime he was stopping.
He gave me back my papers and I went my way.
Other time I was taking photographs in BA, and there comes this black
glassed suit that tells me I could not take pictures of a building as it
was the chancellery building. I said this was public street and that I
had all the right to do it. He identified as a police officer and said
that if I did not desist he'd have to ask for id, I said ok here's my ID
and he put my data in a book. When he say I was not worried he smiled
and said "understand, it's my job, I've been ordered to do it", I said "
ok, but you understand that as a citizen, it is my job to stand for my
rights", and then kept taking pictures.
I doubt you'd have that much freedom in your "free society".
