The U.S. has a history of propping up thugs for dictators. When will we get a president who can act with honor and support decent leaders. Read about the CIA plans to assassinate Lumumba, a democratically elected President of the Congo. We never got the chance to see how good a leader he would turn out to be. Even President Eisenhower said he should be eliminated. The actual president, Tshombe, was a murderous thug but the Congo was rich in resources so the capitalistic countries like Belgium wanted to protect their raw material supplies and to hell with the people.
