I have moved 100% to Ubuntu. The only Windows I do is remote desktop
into an XP machine and use Virtual Box for virtual Windows 7 and Vista
for testing. I find Ubuntu to be everything Bill Gates wanted Windows
to be. They seemed to be listening. Gimp, Open Office, Thunderbird,
Firefox & Python have been excellent for me - and all of my customers
are Windows and don't know I'm not using Windows. I even got my
technically challenged CPA to start using Open Office. You may have
seen my thread about having my HP printer/scanner working great under
Ubuntu but not under Windows.

I *TOTALLY* agree with Ed's assessment of the situation. I can't
believe anyone would prefer Office over Open Office, or Internet
Explorer over Firefox, or Outlook over the post office. After using
Linux for about a year now I can't believe anyone would prefer Windows
anything over Linux or Mac.

Of course your mileage may very. And I want to thank Whil Hentzen again
for encouraging us to look outside of the Window. Get it?

Jeff
