My luck was running the same on low-end HP printers, but after a total disaster with an Epson I took a flyer on a low-end HP Photosmart wireless inkjet at home. Output is fantastic, scanner works really well too. Only drawback is it does go through cartridges pretty quickly.
Not that it is HP's fault, but I had a tough time getting AVG to let me use it wirelessly via XP and Win7 on a consistent basis, even when following the configuration directions on their site. After the 3rd "I can't print" call from my wife while I was at work I removed AVG from her notebook and haven't had such a call since I replaced it with MSE. Most of the time I have to turn off AVG's firewall on my system to print as I still have it loaded. Other firewalls I have tested don't have this problem, which will be solved for good next week when my AVG license expires... not sure what I'm going to use to replace it on my systems yet.
