Definitely the registry, followed at some distance by UAC.
The registry remains unnoticed by most casual users, remaining hidden in 
the dark inner depths, where it exerts its evil and corrosive influence 
in spreading system-wide cancerous rot.

UAC, on the other hand, is constantly in your face.

Actually, I long for the days when you had a 'binder', that rolled your 
executable _and all its libraries_ into a single "exe" that did not 
depend on any dlls.
