Hi, Joerg,

In my experience, mostly with report generators, users never learn how

to use 'designer' software successfully. Half of the problem is they
have no idea what a data structure is.

Let me suggest an alternative approach, being used very successfully by

a local colleague in a large VFP application for a local school
district.

He builds a generic form with a variety of controls on it, and then
defines "options", which are really properties, which can be selected
by
the user to determine which variables are to be displayed (the nature
of
the data item determines the control to be used), the positioning and
size of the item, the color and type face, etc. etc.
In other words, he has removed the 'programming' aspect and has
replaced
it with a simple 'property selection' process.

I don't see why a similar approach wouldn't work for additional data.
In this case, 'properties' would be data type, name, size, etc.
