You won't be running DOS programs directly on 64-bit Windows, because you can't run 16-bit executables on 64-bit Windows.
You have a couple of options. The first is download the free XP Mode installer from Microsoft, which will let you run things in a virtual 32-bit Windows XP machine *IF* your CPU supports hardware virtualisation. Failing that you might get away with using DosBox, but that's really intended for games.
