Ok Thanks
I ran the xpmode and found config.nt in the windows sys32 folder.
I have changed the files=40 to files = 100 and added buffers=30
Will set up and run dos fox again and let you know it works
Thanks Jerry

Thaat's because it isn't on your Windows 7 machine, it's the one inside
the emulated XP machine that XP mode uses that you need to change. You
should have a Windows Virtual PC menu option on the Windows 7 Start
Menu. As opposed to a shortcut for your application. Run that, and you
will get an XP desktop. After ensuring that you have AV installed (MSE
is good), you can find autoexec.nt and config.nt in c:\windows\system32.
