Huumm. I didn't find that in the wiki about these two me, and I don't
agree with their position provided by you, that progress achieved over
the past 50 to 75 years has hurt, rather than helped, minorities. LOL
I'm sure almost all members of a minority in America would agree with me
in feeling the progress made over this period was badly needed and
greatly appreciated.

Perhaps the conservative positions of these two me aided them in their
careers, (eg working within very conservative universities, etc). Chief
Justice Clarence Thomas is very conservative, thus his nomination, and
eventual confirmation to the supreme count was by the hand of President
George H W Bush, an ultra-conservative; although, to my knowledge, not a
neo-conservative like two of his sons. Perhaps these two blacks have
adopted to their conservative environments, so as to survive and even
prosper.

Remember the blacks were brought to America and forced into slavery,
after being kidnapped from there native homes. The slaves were
considered property rather than people, thus they had no legal rights,
and were at the complete mercy of their white masters, who owned them.
A white owner could cut off the head of one of his slaves, if he wanted
to without any threat of punishment from the law. LOL I can't imagine
anyone wanting to go back to that, but at the end of the war between the
states, and emancipation proclamation, many freed salves felt they were
better off being salves than being free men, but such is the nature of
progress. It involves change, and change is almost always painful.

LelandJ
