We just bought a 1 TB usb drive to copy backups to locally. We had a storm a few weeks back and lost power for 26 hrs. We have an off site warm backup and it took a long time to move the 60gig backup through the internet. I'd recommend that you have the same idea of a single drive to mimic what is on the actual server. Then if one of them goes down you have it all just on a slow drive. You then manage moving what you need fast access to and you are up an running. Full doesn't mean expired. You may get another 1.5 years out of those drives, or power supply, or .... ? You may only get 5 months?
