Hi Everybody,

"demonstration farm is under way that could change our conventional
views of agriculture. Funded by the United Nations Food and Agriculture
Organization, this farm features "mini-livestock," including crickets,
mealworms, weaver ants and palm weevils. "Entomophagy" (otherwise known
as eating insects) is the most sustainable diet for consumers who want a
small energy footprint, and a high protein/low cholesterol intake.

"Rearing insects for large-scale farming is a cutting-edge global
initiative that seeks to feed the anticipated 8 billion people who will
inhabit Earth in the year 2030.

"Halfway around the world, the Oxford Museum of Natural History recently
hosted an entomophagy banquet, where BBC media stars mingled with
ambassadors, munching salted mealworms and locusts dipped in chocolate,
to raise awareness of rain forest conservation.

"At the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh, the
Critter Cook-Off at the annual Bug Fest every September attracts more
than 25,000 curious and daring bug-tasters."

"Officially, Americans already eat more bugs than we realize.
Permissible levels of insect body parts allowed in processed foods are
regulated by the federal government."
