Subject: [OT] Measuring Light?

Heya,

So, yes, this is more than a little off-topic, but I was hoping there might
be someone with some expertise in lighting here.

I'm looking for a non-electronic means of measuring the output of a beam of
light. Electric or mechanical is fine, but not electronic. I've read on
various kinds of light meters, but since I don't have direct access to any,
I can't really test. So I'm soliciting opinions.

Thanks in advance,

Joel
