The Microsoft message on HTML5/Javascript vs. Silverlight is more confusing than anything I have seen come out of Microsoft's Developer Division in the last decade. I also believe this is purposely being done as well, and not a right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. What Microsoft does not get though is this approach is driving developers away. Without developers their platforms are doomed. Most people understand the key is to learn from mistakes. Unfortunately, Microsoft seems to be focused on repeating them.
