I agree - why Port it again. Theoretically - if you bought VFP9 - you should be able to simply Recompile an App or an Exe - and just run it under Win7!

Hi all: Just finished my Summer 87 Clipper to VFP 5.0 port. Tried to buy XP from Dell & M$. No longer available. M$ advised that I buy FVP9.0 in an emailed reply, without mentioning that VFP 9.0 is the last of its breed. They added a table showing VPF3.0 to 9.0 against Win 3.x to Win 8 with support Y/N's, Pure Hopscotch. They recommend Win 8, but tell me I must pay get speed benchmarks for it. Win 8 supports VFP 6 and 9 only. There is only an absolute minimum of screens and no graphics in our app as it runs animal feed mixing plants, and of course it will never be attached to the Internet. BUT IT LOVES SPEED. Our server runs Netware which is far faster than the M$ Servers we tried. SQL used only in reports. Has anyone written a Porting App, - VFP to what ?
