Thanks! I downloaded the program and will see what it can do. 
The system that uses the photos is written in VFP 6 and, of course, VFP Paint 
is in version 9. 
It was wasn't that the photo tool had to be in VFP but it seemed to do what was 
required before the file bloat to 14.1 MP and I was able to create an interface 
that stepped through the 100 folders grabbing and editing the images in batch 
mode. 
I appreciate the help.
