You don't have to reinstall.  Making a backup of your original
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file would have been good before messing with it
as I'm sure you know now:)
You might look in /etc/X11/ to see if there is a backup there.

At any rate your dealing with XFree 4 so you need to use -
xf86cfg (1x)         - Graphical configuration tool for XFree86 4.0
