To clarify further, my researches suggest that GTK is never going to make it to the android.
Having said that, Bill Lam is doing some remarkable pre-alpha work implementing a scriptable gui layer for the android. This api goes as far as to expose the whole android interface to scripting. This opens up the possabilities of using sensors, location data, etc. This does little good for those packages dependant on the GTK but we may soon have a platform to move towards. Stay tuned. Many of the Addons are GTK specific and no need to download them and it might cause confusion. Then on the Android you do have two Guis and one is native Android and a bit different from ordinary old type of console even if it is called console. The other is JHS and it is basically just like any other JHS. You do start JHS and get up a page called jijxipad and you can also use that page in ordinary JHS. You can change that to jijx and then you get ordinary JHS and from there you can do demos/labs/jal/etc... Using JAL from this gui menu you can choose the addons just like ordinary JHS JAL. There may be some conflicts doing things in Android console and JHS and I ran into one using plot. Just after downloading J to the Android the plot in the console was working but after downloading plot for JHS it stopped working. That is an issue that will probably be resolved soon. Other than this I do not know of other issues. It is pretty obvious that all the platforms JHS, GTK and Console are different and addon intended for one may very well not work for the other unless platform specific actions are taken. It is quite interesting to run the Labs and Demos in the JHS on the Android. You can have those as well as the Helps offline and read through them in a way that has been difficult before. You can be sitting in the bus or in bed and you have an easier time using this on the Android because the format is so small andthe batteries last long and all actions are very fast so this little machine becomes very addictive very soon. Having J there is having it always at your fingertips and you have e-mail and a lot of other stuff. It is really amazing how much has happened recently and how useful this is.
