I have updated my libraries and base. Looking at the forum archive I have found the following links relevant to my questions, and have added David Mitchell's patch to image3.ijs, but with no luck, even in JHS.
The problem seems to be the 64bit OS on the Mac because I get the same errors in JHS as I was getting in J602 as reported by the cderx'' result. Has anyone been able to read image files on a 64 bit Mac with any software?
