image3 depends on binary dll/so/dylib shipped with the addons. I guess the problem would be the binary is 32-bit only, but J is 64-bit. Another possibility is the osx 10.6.8 (lion?) can not load ppc binaries,
libimage3.dylib: Mach-O dynamically linked shared library ppc I tried and found that the source for iamge3 binary cannot be compiled with the current debian tool-chain. Not sure for Mac.
