Laughing lots!  I gave an APL book to the numpy developers about 10
years ago.  I think it was the diminutive \underline{APL 360/370}.
Still can't find my Gilman & Rose.  Enthought has grown.  Their staff
staff is about 4 times what it was last I looked.  numpy is so dang
clumsy to use compared with j.  The last time I saw numpy source code
(admittedly 10 years ago) it was an absolute mess when I investigated a
bug.  They had implicit array declarations (arrays of pointers to c
functions) that were later on indexed as if they knew the dimensions.  I
couldn't believe that any of numpy worked whatsoever.  There's no chance
that Guido (van Rossum) would accept that code into the mainstream
python distribution like that, although they keep requesting.
