I do agree with you that creating an application, create a starting point and collecting everything needed should be easy to do.
I also think that if/when you create an application for sale it should be easy to donate money to the makers of J. These things were getting quite good in J6 but things started to get a bit more complex in J7 again. In JHS the playing field has grown quite a lot and it may not be all that easy to get into all the new features. In Android which is probably one of the most exciting platform for J you do not even have .exe so the question is how do you start an application there and it is no longer all that easy to create an application that will be able to start the same in all environments. I have always considered this question to be one of the issues that have faced APL in the past but I have not seen much interest from developers of either APL or J to solve it.
