As another Android complete newbie who sought the same advice.
The following may help with the start of the process:
1. On your phone go to App Settings/ Personal / Security and lock
screen/ Device Administration/ Unknown Sources (Tick Allow installation of
non-Market apps)
2. On your phone go to
https://github.com/mdykman/jconsole_for_android/tree/master/dist
3. Select j-console-1.0.5.apk
4. On the new page select the box RAW on the right of the form.
5. That should start download and installation.
6. The J app should be shown after selection of APPS among the set of
available apps.
7. Selecting the app puts you in Jconsole.
We need some simple lists and illustrations of other common user tasks in
this environment. You may also find the google groups j-programming list
has some helpful messages. [email protected]
I hope Michael will some day get to a point where the installation process
is from the App store. What he has done so far is a wonderful contribution.

Now that I bought a new cell phone with Android, I'd love to install J on
