I use gmail on my iPx and that opens the iosx.ijs fine. It sound like you are using an email reader that doesn't like the .ijs suffix. Try again but rename the file to be iosx.txt to see if this helps.
To be honest, I lost most of my interest in this when I saw how well Joey's suggestion of $35 iExplorer from Macorplant worked.
