Shutting down seems to have helped a little. Before I had just restarted. Some success. jhs701 works again and now jqt801 works.
But jhs801 is still not visibly working; rather, jhs801 is sort of processing in the background. It shows up in the Activity Monitor as running, but no terminal window was ever triggered. In Activity Monitor I captured the following information "Open files and Ports" regarding jhs801. (I think Activity Monitor is a prettied up version of unix top. But actually when I execute top I do not see jhs801 or its pid listed). / /bin/sh /usr/lib/dyld /private/var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cache_x86_64 /dev/null u->0xffffff8011d8c940 ->0xffffff8011d8c940 /Users/brian/j64-801/jhs801.app/Contents/MacOS/apprun There is a parent process for jhs801 named launchd In Activity Monitor I captured the following information "Open files and Ports" regarding launchd. / /sbin/launchd /usr/lib/libauditd.0.dylib /usr/lib/dyld /private/var/db/dyld/dyld_shared_cache_x86_64 /dev/null ->0xffffff8012d6ad90 ->0xffffff8012d6ad90 count=1, state=0x1 /tmp/launchd-187.5zKAlz/sock [1:1:0] /dev/autofs_nowait /Library/Preferences ->0xffffff8012a4dc20 /tmp/launch-3lP049/Render /tmp/launchd-187.5zKAlz/sock /tmp/launch-lKw33d/Apple_Ubiquity_Message /tmp/launch-xuvlT3/Listeners ->0xffffff8012d6aa20 /tmp/launch-77uinw/org.x:0 /System/Library/UserEventPlugins /private/var/run /private/etc/com.apple.screensharing.agent.launchd /private/var/db/PanicReporter /private/var/db/GPURestartReporter /private/etc /private/var/db/ConfigurationProfiles /Applications/Utilities /Applications /Library/Caches ->0xffffff8012d174b0 ->0xffffff8012d19af8 ->0xffffff8012d6cbd0 ->0xffffff8012d18a90 ->0xffffff8011d8b760 ->0xffffff8012dcabc0 ->0xffffff8012dca328 ->0xffffff8011d8a000 ->0xffffff8012dca198 ->0xffffff8012d6b3c0 ->0xffffff8011d8b6b0 ->0xffffff8011d8a4d0 ->0xffffff8012d6a600 ->0xffffff8012d6a760 ->0xffffff8012d6a4a0 ->0xffffff8011d8c890 ->0xffffff8014b52e18 ->0xffffff8012d69a50 ->0xffffff8012d6be10 ->0xffffff8014b69d30 ->0xffffff8012d6aef0 ->0xffffff8014b697b0 ->0xffffff8012d692c0 ->0xffffff8011d8bef0 ->0xffffff8014b524b8 ->0xffffff8012d696e0 ->0xffffff8011d8c730 ->0xffffff8014b69c80 ->0xffffff8014b69b20 On Mon, Feb 10, 2014 at 8:33 PM, Eric Iverson <eric.b.iver...@gmail.com>wrote: > I suggest you shut down your machine (to make sure nothing is running) > and try again. > > The JHS failure is almost certainly because anoher JHS task was > already using the port.
