Shutting down seems to have helped a little. Before I had just restarted.

Some success. jhs701 works again and now jqt801 works.

But jhs801 is still not visibly working; rather, jhs801 is sort of
processing in the background. It shows up in the Activity Monitor as
running, but no terminal window was ever triggered. In Activity Monitor I
captured the following information "Open files and Ports" regarding jhs801.

(I think Activity Monitor is a prettied up version of unix top. But
actually when I execute top I do not see jhs801 or its pid listed).
