pulling up edit configure style in the editor I interpreted this as keeping the form of the statements

For example you can change colors for various items in the edit window by changing the RGB specification and/or defining as bold, italic etc. I did these changes to get a different background screen in both edit and termnal windows to suit my fancy and change around some colors in the edit window these class changes color changes did not affect the terminal display- maybe they could be made to do so. The colored text is OK in that it gives a quick identification of the parts of speech but I may go back to simple black on a lightly colored background.

Awesome. Thanks, Chris.

That worked for the session window, but how about the editor?

The comment at the top of the config file says:

# Make changes in the same format as the original.

It took me a while to figure out that the original was
~/addons/ide/qt/config/qtide.cfg

(I think?) But that file doesn't offer much help either. Are there docs
somewhere?
