Since every time I install a new browser the default question returns, I didn't expect this to work. I tried it to be sure, and indeed it doesn't change the behavior when the local help files exist.
I tried Michael Dykman's suggested hint as follows: ACTION_VIEW=: 'android.intent.action.VIEW' Browse=: 3 : 0 2!:1 ACTION_VIEW; y; 'text/html'; 16b00040000 ) This fixed the inability of browse_j_ in j-console-1.0.4 to view local html files on Android 4.2.2.
