The grid addon in J8 is just a reincarnation of grid in J602. It is implemented by gl2 cmds instead of real qt widgets. I suspect this grid has no future and will not be maintained.
You may try the wd table control or grid layout bin, but it will be quite primitive compared with jgtkgrid.
